Christian Education
The Cathedral is pleased to offer several forms of Christian Education, from ages 0 and up. If you would like to participate in, or volunteer for, one of our Christian Education programs, please contact the Cathedral Office.
Note that many of our Christian Education programs are not offered during the Summer season.
Sunday School
Every Sunday during the 11:00 am service, Sunday School is held for pre-confirmation children. Typically, Sunday School children remain in the regular service until after the Holy Gospel is read and a Children's Lesson is presented. Children who wish to receive Holy Communion are excused briefly from Sunday School so that they may join their families for this sacrament.
Parents of younger children requiring individual supervision are encouraged to accompany their children to Sunday School. Changing facilities are provided for their convenience.
Youth Confirmation
Young people seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation are required to participate in our Youth Confirmation program. Typically held every second year (more often if numbers dictate), Youth Confirmation training is directed towards youth age 11 and older. Course topics are intended to help students mature in their Christian faith, engaging them in discussions and activities that foster independent Christian thought.
Classes are held during the same time as Sunday School, beginning in Autumn and ending in Spring.
Adult Confirmation
Adults seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation are required to participate in our Adult Confirmation program, which is held when there are sufficient participants. As with Youth Confirmation, course topics are intended to help students mature in their Christian faith, engaging them in discussions and activities that foster independent Christian thought.
Classes are held during weekday evenings.
Bible Study
Periodically, the members of the Parish family will lead Bible Studies. The programs often correspond to specific seasons in the Church Calendar, such as Lent or Advent. Please contact the Cathedral Office for exact details.
